What should I check in a PDF before sending it?
The expensive mistakes are: personal data you didn't mean to share (emails, phone and account numbers in the text), redactions done as black boxes over live text, metadata revealing the author and software, pages missing or out of order in merged sets, blank pages, and a file size over the destination's limit. This tool checks all of them in one pass, locally.
Can this tool see text hidden behind black boxes?
Partly, and it is honest about the limits. It finds text items sitting underneath solid black areas — the signature of a box drawn over live text, which still leaks when copied or searched. What no tool can see through is a redaction done on paper before scanning: the pixels only show the marker, for everyone.
Does the check detect missing pages?
When pages carry printed page numbers, yes: the tool reads the numbers near the top and bottom of each page and reports gaps, duplicates and backwards runs. Files without printed numbers can't be verified this way — it will say so rather than guess.
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No. Every check — including the text scan and the black-box analysis — runs in this browser tab. You can watch the Network tab and confirm nothing is sent. The same privacy rule as every BytesPDF tool.
What are the size limits it checks against?
Published per-file limits: 2 MB for the US CEAC/NVC portal, 4 MB for Canada IRCC, 5 MB for Australia ImmiAccount, 25 MB for Gmail, 20 MB for Outlook, and a 10 MB corporate Exchange default — each with a recommended target below the limit for re-encoding overhead.
Is a 'pass' result a guarantee the document is safe to send?
No — and no tool can promise that. The checks are heuristics that catch the most common and most expensive mistakes. The final look at the opened file is always yours; treat a pass as 'nothing obviously wrong', not 'certified clean'.
