Merge Client Financial PDFs, Processed on Your Device

Direct answer

Combine statements, invoices and supporting records into one file. The merge runs in your browser, and you check page order and content before the file goes to the client.

Why this page exists: privacy by architecture, not policy

Files are merged locally. Merging can flatten form fields and may drop bookmarks or annotations, and BytesPDF does not certify the output for audit or tax purposes.

Accounting packs often mix bank statements, receipts and signed forms. BytesPDF merges the selected files in your browser, so they are not sent to our servers. Merging creates a new file and leaves the source PDFs unchanged. Check the page count, the order and the readability of every page before you send the result.

Limits

Before You Send a Merged File

Use these checkpoints with the destination's current instructions. Requirements can vary by account, institution, region, document type, and workflow. BytesPDF does not verify or guarantee recipient acceptance. Page reviewed . See the browser-local processing architecture.

Trade-offs

Which Compression Mode Should You Pick?

Three modes β€” pick based on what the recipient needs to do with the file.

βœ… Merge β€” keep the source files

Merging creates a new file and leaves your source PDFs untouched. Keep the originals as the record of what was sent.

🟑 Merge limits on desktop and mobile

Desktop: up to 20 files and 150 MB combined. Mobile: up to 10 files and 50 MB combined. Larger batches are better split into several merged files.

πŸ”΄ Compress after merging only if needed

Compression can reduce image resolution. Statements and receipts with small print should be checked at 100% zoom before the compressed copy is shared.

Before compressing a high-stakes document

Compression rewrites the PDF. BytesPDF rejects files containing a cryptographic signature because any rewrite would invalidate it. Keep digitally signed files and required PDF/A archival masters unchanged. Bookmarks, links, forms, annotations, accessibility tags, and color profiles are preserved where the PDF library can retain them, but always inspect the downloaded copy before filing or submitting it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Scenario-specific answers. For general PDF help, see our FAQ.

Are my bank statements uploaded when I merge them?
The selected files are processed in your browser. The files are not sent to BytesPDF's servers. BytesPDF records aggregate usage counters, such as the tool name, file count and sizes, but not file names or content.
Does merging keep bookmarks, links and form fields?
Not reliably. Form fields are flattened, so their values stay visible but are no longer editable. Bookmarks, annotations and attachments may not survive a page-copy merge. The merge screen warns about this when it applies. Keep the source files if you need them.
Can I merge signed PDFs?
No. Digitally signed PDFs are refused, because rewriting the file would invalidate the signature. Send the signed file as it is, or ask the signer for an unsigned copy if the recipient allows it.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Only files that open without a password and allow copying, printing and editing can be processed. Files with owner restrictions are refused. Ask the client for an unrestricted copy.
Does BytesPDF strip personal data from client files?
BytesPDF clears standard descriptive metadata in the output. Account numbers, names and addresses that are visible on the pages remain visible. This is not forensic sanitization, so use your practice's approved process when one is required.
What order are the files merged in?
The files are merged in the order shown on the screen. You can sort by name, size or page count, or move files manually before merging.
Is this tool approved for tax or audit work?
No. BytesPDF is a browser-based utility. It does not certify a document, and it does not replace the record-keeping, data-protection and filing requirements that apply to your practice.

Ready to get under the limit?

Drop your file in β€” the compressor runs in this tab, so nothing is uploaded. Combine statements, invoices and supporting records into one file. The merge runs in your browser, and you check page order and content before the file goes to the client.
