How do I convert an Excel file to PDF without uploading it?

Use a converter that runs in the browser itself. This tool unzips the .xlsx (a zip container), reads the workbook XML and prints each sheet as a grid on PDF pages entirely on your device. The workbook never leaves your computer — that matters for salary sheets, client accounts and anything confidential.

What happens to formulas?

Excel stores the last calculated result alongside every formula, so the PDF shows those values (and this tool also shows the formula text itself). Formulas are not recalculated — if you edited the file elsewhere without letting Excel recalculate, open and save it in Excel first.

Why do dates show as numbers in some converters?

Excel stores dates as serial numbers and formats them with a style. This tool reads the workbook's date styles and prints real dates (like 2024-01-15). Converters that ignore styles show the raw serial — now you know why.

What about very wide sheets?

Sheets wider than a portrait page switch to landscape automatically. If a sheet is still too wide, columns are scaled down (never cut off silently) and, as a last resort, split across pages marked as column groups — every value stays visible.

Do charts and images convert?

No — and the tool says so honestly in its summary. Charts are stored separately from cell data and aren't reproduced. If your sheet depends on a chart, print that page from Excel itself; for the numbers grid, this tool is the private way.

Can I convert an old .xls file?

Not directly — .xls is a closed binary format. Open it in Excel (or LibreOffice) and save it as .xlsx, then convert here. Most Excel files made after 2007 are already .xlsx.
