Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BytesPDF ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. It's that simple.

2. Description of Service

BytesPDF provides browser-local PDF merge and compression tools. Selected PDF content is processed in browser workers and is not uploaded to BytesPDF servers. Account, subscriber, consent, contact, analytics, and configured error data are separate from PDF content and are described in the Privacy Policy. Tool behavior depends on the PDF, browser, device, and available memory.

3. User Accounts

You don't need an account to use our PDF tools. But if you choose to create one, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Not share your account with others
  • Not create multiple accounts
  • Let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access

Account data is managed by our authentication provider, Supabase. Password credentials are handled by Supabase authentication rather than stored as readable passwords by BytesPDF. Automated self-service deletion is not currently available; send a verified request from the account email to privacy@bytespdf.com.

4. Your Responsibilities

  • You're responsible for making sure you have the legal right to modify the PDFs you process.
  • Don't use the Service for anything illegal or to process documents containing illegal content.
  • The Service is provided "as is" — you use it at your own risk.
  • Don't try to abuse, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service.

5. Intellectual Property

The BytesPDF name, logo, website design, and all associated content are the intellectual property of BytesPDF and Global Paradigm. You can't reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our branding without written permission.

6. Limitation of Liability

BytesPDF is not liable for any damages resulting from using (or not being able to use) the Service. This includes data loss, document corruption, business interruption, or any other direct or indirect damages. We recommend keeping backups of your original files before processing.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements. Processing results depend on your device's capabilities.

8. Third-Party Services

BytesPDF uses the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — handles user authentication and account data storage. By creating an account, you also agree to Supabase's terms.
  • Advertising — is not currently enabled. If introduced later, the consent interface, policy, and applicable provider terms will be updated first.
  • Google Analytics — measures website traffic unless you opt out. Advertising cookies are not used. BytesPDF does not intentionally send PDF content or an account ID.
  • Sentry — captures error reports to help us fix bugs.
  • Formspree — processes contact form submissions.

None of these services ever receive your PDF files.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. When we do, we'll update the date at the top. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms. For significant changes, we'll make it obvious.
